Description
The Doctor W is a bag of essential geometry and quiet presence — compact in form, unmistakable in character. Crafted from vegetable-tanned reverse horse culatta leather, the surface reveals a living material: sand tones that dissolve into bluish and grey veils, like earth dried by the wind. Every centimetre of leather already carries time within it — and with wear, it will develop an increasingly personal and unrepeatable patina.
Carried by hand or worn crossbody, this version features a slender, elongated strap, adjustable through hand-forged iron hooks, preserving the raw, artisanal character of the piece. The structured flap and minimal top handle reinforce the bag’s sculptural silhouette, while the wrought iron hook closure — Tagliovivo’s signature detail — adds a tactile, almost archaic note.
The interior is fully lined in 100% natural linen and houses a zipped pocket and an open leather pocket for effortless, immediate organisation.
The Doctor W is part of the Spring–Summer 2026 “Macchia Mediterranea” collection — a homage to raw material, the Mediterranean landscape, and the beauty of what changes with time. Entirely handmade, each piece carries subtle variations that make it a truly one-of-a-kind object, crafted to last a lifetime.

Care
One of the unique qualities of vegetable-tanned leather is the beautiful patina it develops over time — wear it freely, and let the material tell your story.
The reverse culatta, however, requires particular attention. Its unfinished, velvety surface is more delicate than smooth leather and more difficult to clean: avoid rubbing vigorously, as this may alter the texture irreversibly. Most importantly, this leather is not water-resistant. If it comes into contact with water or moisture, act immediately — gently blot the surface with a dry, soft cloth, absorbing as much liquid as possible without spreading it. Never rub, and keep the bag away from direct heat sources while drying. Even brief exposure to water, if left unattended, can leave permanent marks on the surface.
For regular cleaning, use a soft cotton cloth with a small amount of moisturizing cream, applying it gently and evenly across the entire surface. Avoid applying any care product directly onto a fresh water stain, as it may fix the mark rather than remove it. Allow the leather to dry naturally and completely before treating it.
Variations in colour, shading, and texture are intrinsic to vegetable-tanned leather and speak to its authenticity. Over time, signs of life — patina, light scratches, the memory of a rain shower — are not imperfections, but the quiet proof that your bag is truly, irreversibly yours.
