Description
The Hook Tote is an exclusive design available only through the official Tagliovivo website.
Crafted from vegetable-tanned Culatta reverse leather, it celebrates the authentic beauty of one of the finest Italian hides. The reversed surface reveals a rich, velvety texture enhanced by natural markings and tonal variations, making every piece inherently unique. With time and use, the leather develops a deep, personal patina that reflects its journey.
The handles and drawstring closure are cut from the same vegetable-tanned Culatta reverse leather, maintaining the hide’s raw, tactile character and expressing a coherent, uncompromising material language throughout the entire piece. The spacious interior is fully lined in 100% natural linen and features one zip pocket alongside an open leather pocket for everyday organization.
Its signature fastening system—composed of two leather loops, a hand-forged iron hook, and a solid iron ring—is individually crafted by hand, making every closure one of a kind.
Entirely handmade in Italy, the Hook Tote is conceived as a lasting object, where exceptional materials, traditional craftsmanship, and the natural individuality of leather come together to create a truly unique piece.

Care
Vegetable-tanned leather is a living material that evolves with time. Through everyday use, it develops a rich patina that enhances its character, making each piece increasingly personal.
To preserve its beauty, avoid prolonged exposure to water. Should the leather become wet, gently absorb any excess moisture with a soft cloth and allow it to dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources. Avoid treating isolated stains, as localized cleaning may create uneven marks or alter the leather’s natural appearance.
For regular maintenance, wipe the leather with a soft, dry cotton cloth. When necessary, nourish it with a small amount of neutral leather cream, applying it evenly over the entire surface. Avoid excessive conditioning, allowing the leather to age naturally and develop its distinctive patina. Always test any care product on an inconspicuous area before application.
Variations in tone, shading, texture, grain, as well as the gradual appearance of scratches, marks, and patina, are not imperfections but natural characteristics of vegetable-tanned leather. These qualities reflect the authenticity of the material and are an essential part of its aging process.
